Hosted by the national American Democracy Project, join students from across the the country on Wednesday, November 11 (Noon to 1 p.m. CST) for a national discussion to debrief and discuss the 2020 Elections. Designed to reach across differences and create a space for discourse, this national facilitated dialogue is based on the fundamental value of the pursuit of knowledge for the public good. We will provide access to articles covering the elections and use those for guided questions and prompts for a lively conversation. Open to all ADP campuses, faculty, staff and students. Bring your classes, student organizations, and join us for this national dialogue. Register online.
On Friday, November 13, the Multicultural Center is hosting a virtual space for all students, staff, and faculty to come together and work towards community healing after the results of this election. With the help of Student Counseling Services and guest facilitator, Sharea Farmer, a licensed Clinical Social Worker, they will have space for large group and breakout discussions around our feelings around the election and most importantly, creating a plan for healing post election. RSVP via Redbird Life.
At the Table is a series of virtual dinners and facilitated conversations that aim to build community and embrace vulnerability during these difficult times. Participants receive recipes and non-perishable ingredients to create a meal before the discussion begins. November 6th is a special Post-Election Sip + Chat. November 22's topic is What America Means to You. Advanced registration is required. This event is open to students, faculty/staff, and community members. This event is sponsored by the Wonsook Kim School of Art, University Galleries, Greentop Grocery, and Bloomington Hy-Vee.
