SOCKtober

Good socks are important to basic health, and they are also the most requested item for children in our annual Holiday Helper program. That's why we're turning the month of October into SOCKtober this year. Throughout the month we'll be collecting new, in-package socks for local children. All types, styles, and sizes (infant through adult) are needed.

The socks will be distributed to the 300+ local children in our Holiday Helper program, and the extra adult socks will be donated to Home Sweet Home Ministries.

You can drop of new, in-package socks at the Center during our regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Center is located across the street from Watterson Dining, on the corner across from the CVS in Uptown Normal. You can also find drop off boxes in the following locations: Hewett-Manchester, Tri Towers (Wilkins, Haynie, and Wright Halls), Cardinal Court, Watterson, Multicultural Center, Student Involvement Center, the Alumni Center, and the Stevenson Center.

Sock donations are welcome anytime during the month of October to continue addressing the needs of our Holiday Helper program.

Most popular sock requests include:

  • Men's athletic socks
  • Women's athletic socks
  • Boy's size socks
  • Girl's size socks
  • Baby sizes socks
  • Thick warm socks (for winter)
