SOCKtober
Good socks are important to basic health, and they are also the most requested item for children in our annual Holiday Helper program. That is why we are turning the month of October into SOCKtober this year. Throughout the month we will be collecting new, in-package socks for local children. All types, styles, and sizes (infant through adult) are needed.
The socks will be distributed to the 300+ local children in our Holiday Helper program, and the extra adult socks will be donated to Home Sweet Home Ministries.
You can drop of new, in-package socks at the Center during our regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Center is located across the street from Watterson Dining, on the corner across from the CVS in Uptown Normal. You can also adopt a Holiday Helper community organization with your Sorority or Fraternity chapter and collect socks for the youth. Please contact CCE staff at atete@ilstu.edu if you would like to adopt a Holiday Helper community organization for SOCKTober.
Most popular sock requests include:
- Men's athletic socks
- Women's athletic socks
- Boy's size socks
- Girl's size socks
- Baby sizes socks
- Thick warm socks (for winter)
