Bring it Back to Normal

Since 2008, Bring It Back to Normal (BIBTN) has provided opportunities for students to give back to the community that is home to Illinois State University. The event takes place in April each year.

Bring It Back To Normal Event

Historically, during Bring It Back to Normal, students have helped residents with "spring cleaning" tasks such as raking leaves, planting, cleaning windows, or moving boxes. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the program shifted to broaden its scope by working with local organizations such as Normal Parks and Recreation, Ecology Action Center, and Parklands Foundation.

Locations and tasks on April 12, 2024

Fell Arboretum: volunteers will assist in tagging trees in the arboretum.
Normal Parks and Recreation: volunteers will take action in cleaning up Fairview Park and Anderson Park.
Home Sweet Home: volunteers will prep the garden and help set up the food co-op.
Office of Sustainability: In keeping with the tradition of "spring cleaning," volunteers will be picking up litter near the campus.
